Dumpsters will be placed in the parking lot at the Unity Township Municipal Building, 154 Beatty County Road, Latrobe. They are intended for normal household rubbish that would typically be disposed of through your regular garbage service. Residents may start using the dumpsters as soon as they arrive. Please note that dumpsters will not be placed in neighborhoods or at fire department locations throughout Unity Township.
ITEMS THAT ARE NOT PERMITTED IN DUMPSTERS AND MUST BE TAKEN TO WESTMORELAND CLEANWAYS RECYCLING CENTER:
- Tires (10 Tire Maximum per Household)
- Freon Appliances
- Scrap Metal
- Glass Bottles
- Electronics
- Lead / Acid Batteries
- Polystyrene (Foam Packages)
- Paper / Cardboard
- Fluorescent Light Bulbs
Westmoreland Cleanways will accept these materials on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at no charge to Unity Township Residents. The recycling center is located at 355 Pleasant Unity Mutual Road, Greensburg, PA 15601. For more information, call 724-539-2546.
