The Greensburg YMCA and Unity Township have entered into a five year agreement which will permit the Y the opportunity to offer programming on Township grounds including but not limited to youth sports, summer day camp, special events and senior programming. Additionally, the Y will offer all Greater Latrobe School District residents under the age of 18 a complimentary Youth Membership during the length of their enrollment in specific youth programming. Township Supervisor, Mike O’Barto states, “Unity Township wanted to give all of our youth within the Greater Latrobe School District opportunities to participate in programming lead by the Y within our Township but also within all the programming the Y offers including full membership access to their great facilities”.
This agreement is another partnership the Y has created over the past few years as George O’Brien, CEO of the Greensburg YMCA mentioned, “We have been fortunate to find other organizations, non-profits, school districts, and municipalities that share in our Y’s passion for collaboration that leads to improving our community. This is another example of that philosophy materializing which is a win-win for everyone involved especially the community as a whole. We are always interested in learning of ways we can support and partner with others to improve our community.”
